Our area has a inundation of community volunteering for beautification for our low income side of town. Groups are gathering for neighborhood clean ups, trash removal and graffiti removal. Some "seed planting" because "guerrilla gardening" as such is considered a crime. At any rate, I've done some searching for grants or funding for such a group that is really trying hard with no extra help, but the searches can be tedious. Does anyone know a group, foundation, or grant that they can recommend off the top of their head for such a group? Or other experience or resources they can offer me to share?

Do you have any universities nearby? They often fund community projects like that. We have a local cooperative farming venture that got funds through Rutgers
How about the Geraldine Dodge Foundation? We also have a Sustainable Jersey network that was founded with a Dodge grant. (May be too big for a small venture)

How about just kicking off an Indiegogo campaign, and publicizing it in your community? When it's going to positively impact the neighborhood, a lot of people would probably be willing to kick in and help financially
