I'm glad to see that she chose this way instead of what her late mother in law (Princess Diana) chose. When she married her father in law (Prince Charles).

Gorgeous. Comparing the two, I see Diana's as heavy and almost battle armour like. Gowns should be elegant and light and Kate's definitely wins over.

even better, in my opinion, was the bride's sister's dress. I would have preferred that one as the bridal gown. Much easier to wear and move around in. but then I am not a traditional person, so I would never get my voice heard on this idea. ;)

What an interesting response, Tammy that you had on this. As for me loved both dresses.

Diana went for what was fashionable and Kate appropriately went for classic that will survive over time.

I like to look at photos of couture wedding dresses but I'm not sure who actually wears them other than self-assured career women in New York. Some of those that Carrie Bradshaw tried on were beyond strange. She chose a great one, fashion forward but not too weird.

I loved Kate's dress. It was beautiful, just right, not too much. Diana's was over the top, but I thought she was a beautiful bride too. Diana was very young at the time she married - Kate being older, picked a more mature dress in my opinion.

I think the whole wedding was as simple as they could manage with 1900 guests. Loved the trees in the Abbey instead of flowers and ribbons and such stuff. Loved that they let the building and its history be the decoration.

Since I did not get to watch the wedding, this was a lovely series of shots. Thanks for posting. I agree the gown was lovely and Pippas was very simple and elegant as well.

eh, both dresses bored me out of my mind. but i do really like that they were handmade by british artisans.

I thought both dresses were classic, understated British chic!
