how to make pickled green beans

I am seeing some recipes where the beans are cooked and some where they are put in the jars uncooked then a brine added and then put into canning bath.

How do you make pickled green beans? Would scarlet runners be okay for this?

I put my green beans in sterilized jars uncooked with garlic cloves, dill seeds and mustard seeds- the cover with a brine of water, salt and vinegar, then boil for 10 minutes to seal. Any bean that you consider good eating would be suitable.
