Just out of pure curiosity, if the Democrats decided to throw up a presidential candidate to run against Obama in the primaries, who should it be? As the Republicans are gathering their GOP forces together, who are some of the bright and shining stars on the Dem side that would stand a chance of getting the nomination over Obama?

It's not going to happen simply because of our two party system.

But just as a "What if", my favorite would probably be Andrew Cuomo Gov. of the NY. Of course there is always the possibility of Hilliary Clinton and a few others might be Evan Bayh, Russ Feingold, Howard Dean, or Mark Warner. Also by 2016 I hope their is a really exciting Hispanic candidate - we have several in Texas that are up and coming.

I also am hoping for a rising female star in the Democratic Party by then (2016).

I was rooting for Hillary last time and I wish she'd run again, but don't see it happening.

Maybe then we'd see what a truly transparent and candid government looks like when exposed to the light of day.

I nominated the Donald in a different thread. Trump in '12 (as a Dem, that is).

I'd have to consider emigration if he even won the nomination of a major party for President.
