I just finished this book by former ABC news reporter Gayle Tzemach Lemmon and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't tend to enjoy non fiction but because this was about women entrepreneurs in a war zone it attracted me. The story is of Kamila Sidiqi and how she and her sisters manage to make a living by sewing when Afghanistan falls to the Taliban and beyond into the occupation by US soldiers after September 11. It's a story of how one determinded person can truly change the world around them for the better.

I had trouble putting it down. (Unlike Unbroken by Laura Hildebrand that I could not finish one chapter.) I think the horribleness of the situations was downplayed, resulting in a happy ending. Perhaps that's why I liked it. It's worth reading.

Ditto! I read this on a recent business trip. What an amazing story.
