I've had a yen lately to do some finger painting. Don't ask me why....I think I'm just not expressing myself creatively enough, and I always loved finger painting.

My question, for those of you who know about such things: Do you need to buy the expensive finger painting paper? I want to have big, big sheets of paper, but don't want to spend a lot of money on those gigantic sheets of special finger paint paper. Is it really necessary to use that coated stuff?

Why don't you try freezer paper? Big rolls, not very expensive, and it's coated on one side.

That's a good idea! I was going to suggest going to the local newspaper place to see if you could buy roll ends. But the paints would soak through pretty fast.

You should try finger painting with soil paints. http://soils.usda.gov/education/resources/lessons/painting/

Fantastic stuff. I wish I knew where to get different soil colors here! :) We're all the basic pale gray and pale pink.
