I wasn't sure when to put this thread - didn't seem to go with any of the topics, so I chose spirituality since it seemed the closest.

Can anyone recommend soothing or relaxing music? So far, everything I've tried has been rather depressing. Music in minor keys, etc. I am going through some health challenges which is creating emotional issues as well and I need something either uplifting or relaxing that won't bring my mood down.

I'm open to any secular or sacred music, vocal or instrumental.

Thanks!

Molly, the most relaxing piece of music to me is "Shepherd Moons" by Enya. Most of Enya's music is very relaxing and soothing IMO. Check this out on youtube before buying and see if you like it.

I like some of the nature CDs. I have one (not sure it is still available at a reasonable price) called "Great Lakes Suite". There are many others that are nature sounds with or without music. I find them very peaceful.

I've had a stressful few days at work. I'm listening to Hawaiian music on Pandora. It's really nice. Seems to help.

I like KayLRZ's suggestion. Not so much the Hawaiian music but rather listening to Pandora or something similar. Music is such a matter of personal taste I think your best bet is to explore some free tunes on the net, decide what you consider relaxing and just listen to more of the same.

Harp music is supposed to be very calming. They play it in some hospitals and hospices.
