My greatgranddaughter was born today!
A baby girl, weight 7lbs. 4oz., healthy, strong, and very hungry...
My granddaughter and her husband have chosen to call her Belle Maria, names I love.
I was pretty sure my friends here would enjoy hearing this happy news.
Lizii, a very proud and happy greatgrandmother.

The baby's mom calls me Grams, so that's what I'll be to my ggdaughter too I guess.

Congratulations! That is a lovely name!
I saw Belle for the first time yesterday when her mother arrived from the far north. She brought her 2-month old baby over so I could see her...what a thrill it was to see my first great grandchild!
She's simply beautiful of course...dark blue eyes and light brown hair that looks like a bad hair day. She's so tiny and dainty, I had forgotten how small a baby is. I only had sons (4), most of them were bigger than she is, and certainly not dainty.
She has a good set of lungs when she needs to be fed. I tickled her tummy and she smiled at me. So darned cute, I hated that they couldn't stay longer, but mom was tired from getting up to nurse her every 3 or 4 hours, and wanted to go to back to her mother's home where she is staying before going back to her own home in the far north of Canada.
They're coming back in June, and I'm sure I'll see how much she's grown.

My kids have 2 great-grandparents and it is THE BEST!
I hate that we live so far away from them.
Hi lizii, I was so surprised at becoming a grandmother, I'm not sure what being a great grandmother would feel like but I am so happy you got to meet and play with Belle. All these decades later I'm finally beginning to understand some of the things my own grandmother said and did because I am finally in her 'place'. I hope you get to see Belle again soon. Yay!
