Has anybody read this book by Gary Shteyngart?

It's so painfully close to being true that I can't decide whether to laugh, cry, or run screaming in terror. I think I did all three last night when I finally finished it. Anyone else read this and want to talk me down off the ledge? ;)

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK.

It is one of the most memorable reads I have experienced. What I thought was brilliant was how the book could basically be set anytime now or in the near future, yet it doesn't say when. Any of it could plausibly happen next year, or in 50. This whole enigmatic time frame lets the reader enjoy it a bit. If the author were to have specified a year, it would have been too real and too too scary. It was just absurd enough to be funny, and just real enough to be frightening.

I don't think that talked anyone down off any ledges, though. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone in your reaction. Simply an awesome book.
