I received a Bahco Laplander 8" folding-blade saw for a present a couple of weeks ago.

I've been using it almost every day since while clearing brush and timber from around the house, in preparation for the giant pre-fire-season wood-chipper-fest some neighbors and I engage in.

This saw, which I didn't expect much of, rocks. Tears right through the green mostly-evergreen stuff around here, and even does an OK job on some of the hardwoods. Easy to use, easy to carry, not as cumbersome as loppers, and after a couple weeks of abuse, cutting too close to the ground and running the blade across dirt and small rocks now and then, it's still cutting like a champ.

My one complaint is it comes with a leather lanyard through the lanyard hole, I threw that out on Day One and replaced it with neon lime-green parachute cord.

It's not a fancy expensive Silky saw, but it works well for the price they seem to be asking.

A property owners best friend! My husband has used one for years. The blade on his (I estimate) is 10-12 inches.
