There used to be a thread, perhaps some years ago, in which we set a target for how much one would spend on groceries each month. Of course each of us set a different target. Then we reported in when we spent on groceries and/or nongrocery items like paper products and cleaning supplie. Each of us set our own parameters. The object was to control grocery spending (the figures included eating out). It was a challenge to beat the previous month taking into account things like birthdays, parties, eating out and just plain grocery shopping. Does anyone remember this kind of thread and where I mght find it? It really helped me control impulse buying and there were lots of good recipes and frugal ideas!!
