This lady has done a beautiful job with making a shipping container home. She used three for the house and one for a carport. It's about an hour away from where I live. Love the clean lines and large windows.

I love this Float On!!! I've seen a few of these now and think they're great. I also really like the clean lines. Wish there were more pics...

A few more photos here after a little searching. Wow! Love the bedroom container and how the end is a covered deck overlooking the river.

Oh, wow!!! I love windows, and her kitchen-area with the large floor-to-ceiling windows is the pièce de résistance! I could live like that!

I love shipping container homes. Very practical and environmentally friendly too. Unfortuantely, because of building codes and zoning laws, they don't seem to allow them in most places around here (Southern Calif) but maybe as they become more mainstream they will be allowed.

I love the idea of using these shipping containers and would love to have one as a project. I guess I would honestly collect tiny houses if I could. I love the shipping container houses because they are creative, reasonable in price, very versatile and appeal to me because they remind me a bit of building with legos. Yeah, I'd love to build a tiny house from Legos too.

One interesting use of a shipping container I read about on an ex-pat website was for travel. This guy bought a cheap shipping container, fixed it up to live in, and then travelled with it around the world on...what else... a container ship! Sort of a nautical verson ofull time RVing.

I wish I had known about this years ago, as containers USED to go for around $1500 (no idea of the current market). It would have been nice to price a whole home that way.
However if you have considered a Lego house, it has been done before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEFPhXl3QQY

Thanks for posting this, I like the way this woman has designed hers compared to some others I have seen...

I too wish I'd known about this years ago--great frugality.

Since I handle the transport of containers and clearing the cargo through Customs, living in one would be too much combining of work and home! ;)
