View Full Version : Who do you look like? Me-- Tony Soprano's shrink
I've finally gotten around to watching The Sopranos on dvd and yes I am hooked after only 2 episodes. Some years ago I walked into the local Sushi place and the young hostess there stared at me--and then gushed--you looked exaclty like that woman who plays on the Sopranos, Tony's psychiatrist.
So I looked up that actress and agreed, we are similar types, but she is younger. So I was fine with that comparison. Here she is:

So now I am watching the show, and while I do not think that I look exactly like that that shrink woman, here's what's funny--she reminds me of my mother. She looks a little like my mother! And some people think I look like my mother. I guess that means that I look more like the tv shrink than I think I do.
Meanwhile, here's the person I would LOVE to look like if I got a choice, the gorgeous Sophie Marceau:

Oh God! Now I'm going to picture you in that outfit bae. No! :D
I don't know who I look like, but then Iris has actually met me, so she already knows. I look like my paternal grandmother, but that probably doesn't help anyone form a mental picture. :)
I don't know which actress you look like Stella. hmmmm. I can't think of one who has your coloring.
I do not know what to say about bae's photo and so I will just ignore that. :0!
I can't get past those short shorts. WOW.
Brian Blessed.

I don't look like anyone now, but when i was young people thought I looked like Linda Ronstadt or Judy Garland, something about the mouth I think. Now I just look like all those other middle aged gals.
Actually - my Mother. Surprise!

People have said I look like Jane Asher - a British actress, probably best known for being a girlfriend of Paul McCartney's in the Beatle days. I put it down to having narrow features and the same hair colour!

Wow, Ishbel, I always thought Jane Asher was so beautiful (still is). And you have that great red hair? So does my daughter--she got it from my dad. Like copper--you're so lucky!
As for me, when I was working in Macy's in the 70s/early 80s, everyone used to tell me I looked just like Jill Clayburgh. She recently died, so I guess I no longer look like her!
ETA: Actually, see this old blog post of mine to see my copy-cat hairstyles over the decades--guess I wanted to look like a few people over the years--Jane Asher included!

One more ETA: bae, that's JUST how I pictured you! ;) Fun thread!

Sadly, like Ms Asher's, my hair is losing its brightness!
She is still a very striking woman, with many strings to her bow, including a great bespoke cake business! I had to faithfully copy many of her cakes for children recipes when my family were small!

Actually - my Mother. Surprise!
I look like my mother who looked like her mother. My husband looks like John Tesh - lucky me.
Go to my profile for an actual picture of me. I don't watch too much tv so ... I dunno, do I look like anyone?
Bae, awesome! Can you actually fly? :D
bae......do your wings look like that too? :~)
catherine..........I always thought your profile pic looked like Jill Clayburgh!
I don't look like anybody. Actually, I don't even look like myself! :D
When I was younger, I looked like Demi Moore when she was younger, like in the early 80's:
http://hagiblog.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/one_crazy_02.jpg?w=550&h=309
She's about the same age as me, and while she became slim and muscular and tan, I kinda didn't.
I also looked kind of like Boy George in the 80's. http://www.hollywoodrag.com/images/uploads/boy_george_big.jpg
You do rather resemble Demi Moore. You have those cute features.

I've often heard that I look "just like ****" some friend or relative of the speaker. I've yet to meet any of these alleged look-alikes..maybe that's a good thing?? Of course if she were thinner, younger, had fewer wrinkles, maybe I'd be flattered...
My DH looks kind of like Orlando Bloom. Except cuter IMO.

I have always been told I look like "the girl next door" but I am not sure just what that means. Ordinary? Apple pie? As far as someone famous, maybe Sally Field-ish.
About 15 years ago someone said I looked like Natalie Merchant. And I did, a little.
Fun thread!!! :)
I don't think I look like any particular (one) person, i.e. famous actress, star, etc. Love all the posts and pics! Going to ask my husband (just for kicks) when he gets home later.

Some people have told me I resemble Meredith Baxter.

People have told me I look exactly like Amanda Peet-even have the same facial expressions. I see the resemblance but I am far uglier!

When I was much younger people always thought I looked like Stevie Nicks and my DH looked like Mick Fleetwood, both from the rock group Fleetwood Mac. In our 50's now and I don't think we look like them anymore, although I think they have aged well, better than us anyway....LOL

I loved that movie! My son looks kind of like Flash. I don't look like anyone except maybe my mother.

In the right light and if I'm "scrubbed up" I look like a cross between Les Dawson and Timothy Spall.
My husband looks kind of like Patrick Stewart when he played Capt. Picard on Star Trek Next Generation, except my husband is younger and has red hair (same baldness on top).

The English teacher who inspired Patrick Stewart to become an actor also taught me at school. Cecil Dormand was a larger than life figure and Patrick Stewart dedicated his knighthood to him.

By a spooky coincidence Brian Blessed gets a mention in the link.

WOW.
Just.. WOW!!!
I tend to look like many old Greek and Roman statues - straight but aquiline nose, smallish mouth, high cheek bones, round face, long hair pulled back - but with arms. In ancient times I would have been considered a beauty. ;) I'm a good number of centuries late to the party however.
But I am part Italian. :~)

Some people have told me I resemble Meredith Baxter.
Hopefully not in the movie 'Betty Broderick, A Woman Scorned' ;)
That's one of my all time favorite 'made for tv' movies -
whenever I think of Meredith Baxter, I think of her playing Betty Broderick.
She-Ra: Princess of Power and one of the Master's of the Universe. Or so I've been told :-)!
When I was younger several people said I looked like "Jeanie" (Barbara Eden) from "I Dream of Jeanie" or Barbie (Doll ). As in: "Hey Ken Baby, lets take a cruise in the Dream Jeep over to the Dream House and make some Dream babies". Ken, alas, was only interested in G.I. (don't ask, don't tell) Joe. So Barbie ended up an old lonely childless spinster living in her delapitated Dream House on her small old age pension from Mattel.
I don't think I look like either of them but I do have the blonde pony tail and bangs - but then, so does Miss Piggy :-)!

Occasionally people will say I look like Julia Stiles. I see the resemblance and I like her as an actress.
A few months ago on vacation a group of older ladies was just staring down my DH at a restaurant. It was weird! I could tell they were talking about us. Then we saw them a couple days later. They were just gushing over how much DH looks like Mark Ruffalo. We didn't even know who that was and then we looked him up and DH does not look like him at all, hahaha. Just the dark hair and eyes. Now we have seen him in all kinds of movies.
DH actually looks just like Carlos Pardo, a Mexican NASCAR driver who died in a wreck in 09. We had tons of people in Mexico tell us that and we looked him up, and yep, he is DH's Mexican twin.
My wife says I look like Michael Chiklis... http://www.google.com/images?q=michael+chiklis&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&oe=UTF-8&rlz=1I7ADSA_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=baNZTZu2F4O78gbFj8GOBw&sa=X&oi=image_result_group&ct=title&resnum=2&ved=0CEAQsAQwAQ&biw=1346&bih=583

I have been told by a lot of people (friends, acquaintences, perfect strangers) that I look like Jennifer Garner. Sometimes the comments come in fast and furiously, sometimes they go away completely (like now). I finally realized that I only get those comments when she's pregnant. Ouch.

I'm doing this as a test to see if I can actually figure out how to insert an image :~)
I've been told I look like Renee Russo (but shorter)
She does look like me in this picture: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3909063936/nm0000623
And also Karen Allen. I think I look more like Karen Allen, but I have red hair and green eyes.
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm521508352/tt0367882
(no, apparently I haven't got the knack quite yet.)
Okay, trying again to see if I can insert a link....
I don't particularly look like anyone, but my mother looks like a cross between Hyacinth Bucket and the Queen Mum. She dresses in floaty, frilly things, whereas I'm more of a semi-tailored but very comfortable dresser.
DH was particularly taken with the Hyacinth Bucket reference after he saw a few episodes . . .
Thirty five or so years ago, many people thought I looked like Leo Sayer:
him circa 1977: http://s11.allstarpics.net/images/orig/l/h/lhbthe67vhcb76ht.jpg me (with wife) circa 1977:http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/161372_1416670978_7334041_n.jpg
These days, I'm more of a scruffy Tom Bergeron:
him, circa 2010: http://web.wireimage.com/images/tnm/51769817.jpg
me circa 2010: http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/5812_1112800386335_1416670978_30329578_2535108_n.j pg
Alan. I am blown away by the pics!!! Thank you greatly for being so kind as to taking the time to share. :) The resemblance in you and Leo Sayer in the first photos is astonishing, however the resemblance in you and Tom Bergeron is crazy! P.S. Your wife looks like such a doll. (You're very handsome).
Go to my profile for an actual picture of me. I don't watch too much tv so ... I dunno, do I look like anyone?
Actually you kind of look like a much younger Rene Russo yourself (but you are better looking)! Maybe it's the hair. Alan's a cutie too (all the goodlooking guys are taken dern it!). And of course Bae is to die-for. I mean hot pants AND wings - what more could a girl ask for :-)!
