View Full Version : Imagining a world without plastic!

Can you? I'm trying... but can't.

Imagine... nothing plastic. Not a thing...

Take telephones for instance/example. A wooden telephone? A metal telephone? Sure... it's possible, but is it practical? With plastic comes colours, colour impregnated right into the plastic, so never any painting/touch-ups, and... easy wipe clean/disinfecting!

How about garbage cans/pails/cleaning buckets? Sure, aluminum makes for a great material for garbage cans/pails/buckets, but who wants a clunky aluminum garbage can in their home? One that stains the floor, damages surrounding features such as woodwork/doorways/doors, etc, when accidentally bumped against.

How about the dashboards of cars? A solid metal/steel dashboard? A wooden one?

Maybe the whole motive behind this thread isn't so much about thinking or imagining what our world without plastic would be like, so much as it is about backing the use of plastic Re: certain things/applications. Something to think about anyway...

Try this out. Read this blog a while ago about a plastic-free family.
