Does a Honda car need a Honda battery, or will any do?

My Honda Service place has been saying my battery is low, but I haven't had any trouble with it all winter. They want $144 for a new one, but I know I could get one well under $100 somewhere else.
Is there any reason I might have to get specifically a Honda battery?
