Is there a trick to storing deviled eggs to last for more than a few hours? I have a decorative deviled egg plate but if I put plastic wrap over it they seem to get yucky in a few hours.

How do you successfully store deviled eggs? I would like to find a way to do it without buying a tupperware gadget. I do have glass containers with plastic lids tho.

thanks.

Toothpicks help keep the wrap off the eggs.

I'd make the egg filling up and leave it in a bowl covered with wrap, then scoop it out just before serving.

You can fill a Ziploc or similar type of sandwich bag with the deviled egg filling, snip the corner off the bag and pipe the filling into the hardboiled egg halves just prior to serving. This makes transporting them easier. If you have a refrigerator/cooler available, you can keep the filling and hardboiled egg halves chilled and prepare the deviled eggs in smaller quantities, such as half a dozen or a dozen eggs at a time, so they look and stay fresh over many hours.
