"Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?" - Mary Oliver
I don't know where it came from, but I have always liked "let the mystery be." I take that to mean that everything we believe is a story (religion, politics, culture) we have concocted to make sense of life and that bewilderment is actually a freeing state of mind.
With my ongoing nostalgia for home, this one - " sometimes the best way to get to a better place is to make the place you are just a little bit better."

"Trust in God and tie up your camel."--Arabic saying
“Gradually it was disclosed to me that the line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either -- but right through every human heart -- and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained. And even in the best of all hearts, there remains ... an unuprooted small corner of evil.
Since then I have come to understand the truth of all the religions of the world: They struggle with the evil inside a human being (inside every human being). It is impossible to expel evil from the world in its entirety, but it is possible to constrict it within each person.”
― Aleksandr I. Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956

"Sometimes you have to stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it."
"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." - Gandalf
