Here is a slightly odd but really good watermelon recipe, from the Wholefoods Deli: watermelon chunks, feta cheese chunks or crumbled, thinly sliced red onion, chopped mint and a splash of lime juice. Many customers won't try it 'cuz it is a kind of weird combination, but it is really fantastic and when I make it at home, I eat quite a lot of it one sitting because I CAN'T STOP myself

I love watermelon with salt on it too. Last year I made watermelon pico de gallo. It was good.

I think we are on our eighth watermelon this summer. Also noticing a huge amount of new varieties of cantalope types. All seem almost too sweet but nevertheless good. I noticed yesterday they had seeded ones for sale for two dollars more. Lots of old-timers swear by the seeded ones. Seems pesky things like seeds and bones are disappearing from our food.

I know pinkytoe........I do have some concerns about seedless things. I wonder what the ramifications are of NOT having seeded things.

That watermelon and feta sounds good. I just like the yin and yang of sweet and salty.
