DW and I have been getting rid of stuff since January. Our friends find it hard to believe as we live rather simply, but it is amazing how it can add up. Our goal is 1,000 by December, and believe we have only 70-80 left to go. And truly, we didn't start with much:-)

Edited to add: this will be a net 1,000 reduction. If we bring anything in it counts against us:-)

I know I've stood in the housewears dept of a store and put something back on the shelf that I've considered trying because all the kitchen gadgets that I've decluttered come to mind.
Cheers Float on, Id have to agree, I have my clothes already pared down to a minimum but I must admit books are a problem for me & 1 in 1 out is a rule that doesn't seem to apply to them lol

Add to the total of 23
    11 pairs of shoes
    12 books
    8 broken trays (seed)

Momentum has diminished but I'm not quitting. Today a stack of sheet music (perhaps 20 books) left the house, tally now at 94. I will get there.

I must have decluttered more than 200 items this month... Today, I got rid of empty flower pots which were pn my balcony (about a dozen) and cleaned it with my steam cleaner (Enough pigeon droppings to last me a lifetime).
the days before I got rid of most cat toys (the moths had gotten into them), summer clothes (about 30 items) and shoes (a dozen), lots of unindentified items (soare parts from IKEA furniture, bits and bobs), dozens of real estate mags (I love real estate porn, dozens of books, audio tapes, VHS, rice cooker, etc. etc.

I didn't want to deal with a yard sale, but Dh really wanted to . He didn't sell much, but he and my dd are having another sale tomorrow. Whatever is leftover is going straight to charity!

For some reason I find it kind of painful to sell my stuff - I just want it gone.

Anyhow, that will be at least 500 things out of the house!

Today I took another load of stuff to the thrift shop. I had brought home a load of things from my parents. Some of it I can put in my antique booth but a lot of it after sorting was only good enough for the thrift shop. So maybe a bonus 35 items for me. I am so thankful that me getting a antique booth was the push my mom needed to start sorting the house. Its so nice to see her getting rid of things.

Worked on my antique/flea booth this morning. More left the booth and I added quite a bit to it including 2 old windows from the farm house, a porch fountain, garden iron stakes, garden iron sculpture, 2 hanging baskets, and another 20 items from my mom's clean out. Was nice to hear the manager of the antique store say that he has a customer that asks him to give him a call every time I bring stuff in for my booth.

    One pair of shorts
    Three exercise bands
Two glass jars (filled with honey and passed along to happy recipients!)

    Total for the month: 75

I'm going to have to get moving if I want to get to 100 in the next few days!
