I am sorry. I was under no idea that land was Ever taken. Our local trail passes an abandoned gravel pit on a centennial farm. The estate has said No to allowing a connecting section. They have every right too say No.

He lost that part of it.
The railroad came through his farm in the 1880's and the deed said that the land would revert back to the farmer if the railroad was abandoned. When the railroad gave up that section of rail, the local government took over the line and made it into a bike trail. So, that was wrong but typical of government.

Some people who use the bike trail dont stay on the trail. They cut across his land, open gates, cows escape, etc. Not a good scene.
