That's true--they do look beautiful. Great gift.

I’m learning to use my Instant Pot more, meaning less electricity. There’s a huge batch of oatmeal in it right now. I’m hoping it cooks just fine. I have 5 people to serve in about half an hour!

    ETA: it turned outexcellent!

Wow, we've had nothing to rave about in almost a month!
Sister & I went to a nearby farm today that is a favorite spot for produce and baked goods and pumpkins, etc. Today we went to their pick your own zinnia field! For $12., they give you a generous sized vase and the run of the zinnia beds. It was a perfect, warm and sunny day and there were bees and dragonflies and butterflies, and we had a wonderful time, and now my house is full of beautiful flowers. Zinnias make me happy, and having fun with my sister makes me happy!

What a great idea! Zinnias are great! Mine are still keeping my gardens alive-looking and I cut a bunch every week to put in my vase. They're DH's favorite flower.

My DD got a flower CSA this year--something I never heard of. Every week she picked up a fresh bunch of cut flowers.

When she first told me about it I thought she was getting a flour CSA.. because I had never heard of a non-food CSA. I was thinking, gee how much baking can you do?

This is the latest I've been able to keep my zinnias alive- they still look beautiful.

There actually is a flour CSA in western MA- well its a grain CSA and one of the options is milled flour. Its a once yearly delivery.

Thought of rosarugosa for this post - got a text from a sibling this morning wanting to take a "spontaneous" day-trip drive through the country and visit a historic site. Ended up being three of us sisters. Historic site was closed inside the building but the outside grounds and small building with films were open and just as wonderful. On the l-o-n-g drive home, we stopped at a winery and had a wine tasting (about 2 tablespoons of wine each "taste", so no worries of intoxication - LOL) and then stopped at an orchard/farmers stand for apples. I got a huge bag of Gala seconds that will end up on the dehydrator and, hopefully, applesauce! The most important thing was the time with my siblings and doing spontaneous things on a cloudy, but wonderful, Sunday. Hope everyone else has had as good a day!
