Today I used Tradd’s screen name here as a way to memorize a botanical name. I’ve had the hardest time remembering “Tradescantia” or Spiderwort.
This memory device is helping me. Thanks Tradd!
still have not finished the Pern book…two more piled on top of it.
It is something like 9 degrees outside and snow-globey so watching things germinate under lights is keeping my spirits high. Hope.
Technology is great: This morning I received a message feom the Illinois Tollway office that my credit card on file with them expires soon.
I loved this reminder because I do go to Chicagoland periodically (we are going in July) and I like not having to worry about the damn toll roads and how they work. The software records my license plate and charges me appropriately.
This is brilliant use of technology, I have to say.
I remember the first time we drove through those toll roads and we fumbled for cash and didn't know what we were supposed to do. Now we do…nothing! And let the software take care of it.
But, snark here: it is it really very great that the State of IL holds my credit card information? I dont consider that especially secure.
Back when I lived in Wisconsin we had to stop at all the toll booths in Illinois and drop in quarters. It was a pita.
I left 30 years ago so it’s good news that the booths are gone.
IL keeps sending notices due to MIL who died years ago. We checked once and sent death certificate. A company in Kenosha is using her info. Now just put no one by that name at this address. Stupid.
