    Sad sight in the garden.........

I went out to water what few plants were left in the garden......and found a snake eating one of the few toads I've seen around here.

It was about 1/3rd into the snake and I considered pulling it out, but it wasn't moving. Plus.....a snake needs to eat too. Just wish it chose a mouse.......of which we have so many.
I sure hope that wasn't the only toad around this summer. Haven't seen them for several years, until this year.

I know it goes on.......but I don't want to see it!

Oh, I know. I found a dead bird in our yard today (pine siskin) and it was very sad. Such a perfect, delicate creature.
Well, the hunter comes for us all...

My little are in my MI yard, I only saw one toad this summer. I usually move them all summer while cutting grass. Snakes, Gardeners an over abundance of them this year. Chipmunks, Good Heavens a BUMPER crop! Cotton Tails same. Deer, way to many and why are the neighbors feeding them. Oh and Neighbor's Beagle visited my year just as often

We had a hawk swoop through our suburban yard yesterday going after a little dove that was picking seeds on the ground. Wow! It was surprising as we don't see them doing that alot during the day. I agree with Cathy...wish they'd go after the mice.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!
