    Fridge air freshener

Hey, I have very little sense of smell.

I keep my fridge very clean, but I am worried there might be a little, subtle funk from the various foods and 'tovers and such that are in there.

I'd like the fridge to smell rosy and fresh -- noticeably -- with every opening.

    Suggestions?

Hmmm... seems rather simple and cheap.

I just cannot stand the smell of a funky fridge, and if I can smell it at all then it is danged funky!

As TxZen said, baking soda. For a simple liver, you seem a little too skeptical of a simple solution.

Maybe it prevents the funk, but then what does one smell when opening the fridge? Nothing?

Isn't that the point, you don't want to smell anything when you open your fridge?

If you really Must smell Something, put some vanilla or peppermint on a cottonball and put it in there.

You prefer Chanel? Yes, the baking soda absorbs odors.

The only time I notice refrigerator smells is when broccoli gets lost in the back somewhere. So I don't buy broccoli very often.
You seem a bit obsessive. About everything. Just saying...

A slice of bread will absorb any odor you have, but will not make it smell nice.

I agree with the recommendation of baking soda, but more importantly figure out what's causing the stank and get it out of there.

Reminds me of the time that a bag of onions got buried in the back of a kitchen cabinet when I was living in a house with 4 roommates my senior year of college. (in southern florida and we were too cheap/poor to run the a/c very often...) The smell was minor at first. Only noticeable when one opened the cabinet. Then it was bad enough that you could subtly notice it walking through the kitchen. Then it was freaking awful from anywhere within 10 feet of the cabinet even with the door closed. That's when I finally pulled everything out and found a bag of now mostly liquid onions... Find what's causing the odor and get it out. Now. Not a month from now when even baking soda can't absorb all of it.
