    Come from Away - a 9/11 musical

Saw this at the Royal Alex in Toronto and loved it. Everyday characters with average bodies and all ages, lively down-east music, Newfy humour, clever choreography and an upbeat story based on a real challenging situation. On 9/11, 38 planes landed in Gander, Newfoundland because they were shut down from flying; 6000 people from around the world joined a community with a population of 7,000. No one knew what was happening, fear was rampant but Newfy resilience and the wonderful ability of humans to overcome challenges won out.
Altogether delightful production and for the first time in years, I joined the audience in leaping to my feet with applause.
As Cicero said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”

I like the premise of that show.

Sounds an interesting show. Wonder if it will make it to London?

Once it is done in Toronto, it is on route to Broadway. After that depending on the US response, it may well make it further as many shows go around the world after finding support in their home country.
