I would like to add that I have solved this problem. I now am putting 1 cup of steel cut/pinhead oats into the slow cooker and adding 5 to 6 cups of water. What a difference! Soft, creamy, not at all stodgy oatmeal that spoons up lovely every morning for the week. I add chia seeds, walnuts and raisins when I reheat in the morning. What a difference!

HELLO I haven't eaten oatmeal for years, but if anyone has an Instant Pot, I hear they're wonderful for steel-cut oats.

I enjoy oatmeal but sometimes, I get tired of the taste despite of what the variety of what I put with it. Recently I blend it so it can be easily taken. Well, I got to try overnight oats soon.

I like the six-quart Duo. Look for sales--the Amazon Day sale mid-Summer is good.

I've made oatmeal in my IP and it was the best oatmeal I've ever had. My brother did a cheese cake that he said was to die for
