Hidden Figures and The Free State of Jones. I started La La Land but did not find it interesting.

Finally watched Jackie with Natalie Portman. Took me back to that time when I was 10 and JFK died. I recall our principal in elementary school announcing over the intercom with a tearful voice that the president had been assassinated. Interesting to see/imagine from her perspective.

I redboxed Hidden Figures and Guardian's of the Galaxy two, two weeks ago. I didn't even remember the later movie when first trying to write this, it was so, eh.
The older I am getting, the more I am interested in true stories, then the poop icon that is put out, or re put out, as it seems so many are.

Just had a chance to see Hidden Figures. It was quite well done, I thought. I also was reminded of how backward our society is...and how much we've lost to systemic racism and sexism.

Another Redbox pick: "The Hero" starring Sam Elliott. He plays an actor whose best movie days are behind him and who is facing his own mortality. I thought he did a terrific job.

Watched "The Founder" - story of Ray Kroc and McDonalds. Michael Keaton does a great job, as does the actors playing the original McDonald brothers.

I enjoyed that one, too. Sometime ago there was a non-fiction book around called Fast Food Nation with an account of the McDonald's empire. As closely as I remember, the movie told the story fairly accurately.
