    goodwill win, losing weight

We had all-staff training today and I wore a cute skirt. I don't get to wear them often when school is in session. It just kept slipping down, not that you could tell looking at me but still awkward. So i stopped at goodwill on the way home and got a stretchy pair of black pants and a cute skirt. There was some kind of sale so I spent $5. I could spend more than that doing laundry! I have found that being too strict on how many items of clothing I have is too difficult right now anyway. The weight has settled to the 7 lbs, but there is also a bigger change on where my weight is. The belly fat is sloooowly moving, but it is moving.

Congrats on both the weight and the goodwill finds. I hate clothes shopping and have resorted to a belt so that I can continue wearing my big shorts - lol.

Belts have gotten me this far, I can wear many of my pants and jeans still because of my belt. I was wondering if there are any belt trends like using scarves or something cute that I can try. There are not that many ways to dress up my wardrobe.

    There's a win-win if I ever heard of one!
I love clothes and shopping for them--at rock-bottom prices, of course--so I get a vicarious thrill reading of others' thrift hauls.

Can you do some "refashioning" to the skirt to keep it wearable a bit longer...if you want? Congrats on the loss.

Float, the skirt is one I made so I could take out the side seams and re-do it. I looked at increasing the darts but my waist has gone down almost 2 inches! So that isn't going to be enough. It is such a simple design and I love the fabric. I had a pattern for a basic, unlined, knee length skirt. I found some beautiful linen so I also got plain white for a lining. There is no waist band really, when I have made it without a lining I used a ribbon, turned over the waist and topstiched. I have made 2 with linings, so much easier than a lot of patterns.
