My favourite new meal is called "Egg Roll Bowl" all the ingredients of an egg roll (except wrapper)
in a bowl.
You can use any ground meat but, for some reason my most favourite one is with pork...yummy
My favorite thing to do with ground pork is to make Chinese pork dumplings. Mix with ginger, bamboo shoots, soy sauce, a bit of cornstarch, etc. wrapped in wontons. Dipped in apricot jam-sherry vinegar sauce.
I also usually mix it with ground beef for meatloaf.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!
I've never tried to make sausage, but SO has figured out how to make awesome turkey meatballs. He puts a large amount of the red pepper oil sauce from our favorite chinese (or should I say Oriental...) restaurant in them. (Every time we go there he asks, and they give him, a tupperware full of the stuff). If one can make something as bland as a turkey meatball have flavor I assume the same concept would work for pork sausage.
Don't eat pork any more, but when I did, I made Chinese dumplings. Just buy the frozen wrappers at a Chinese store, and use Napa cabbage to make. Make sure to make a yummy garlic/soy sauce with a little vinegar, fresh ginger, sugar, red pepper sauce, and sesame oil to dip them in.
Google pork pie, a British specialty, or tourtiere, a French version.
My meat eat pie version has ground pork and beef, mashed potatoes, Bell’s seasoning (comes in a little yellow box in the spice section). I sautéed up some onions and celery when I cook the pork. Turn it into a pie crust and bake. I serve with beef gravy. A specialty my friends and neighbors love around the holidays. Lots of different versions of this.
