I donate very little to thrift stores and do not keep track of it. But I donate cash to other organizations and do track that because the donations are sizeable.
Our tax preparer figures our taxes both ways, with the standard deduction and without.

I’ve never tracked thrift store donations for tax purposes. I feel it is my contribution to the environment and the cause (mostly dog rescue), keeping useable things out of the landfill and allowing others to find just the right thing without paying either a high price or postage.
Thrift shopping has gotten to be a big thing so when I donate it feels good that someone else will want something that I donated. I broke some of my plates to my good dish set. I looked on REplacemnts and the cost for some were ridiculous. Well one day I am at Goodwill and see a bunch of the pattern so I bought the bowls and plates. It was the same price to take all the other pieces but I would not use it so left it for someone else.
