Doc Martin
We are going to start Game of Thrones tonight. We have never watched one episode. I know nothing about it. I have never been interested, but we need another episodic show to watch.
DH is going to email the kids after we watch it and say "Hey, Mom and I just watched this great show! Not sure if you heard of it. It's called Game of Thrones. You should see it!" Just for a joke to see if they take him seriously.
If we like it, it should take us through the summer.

Here, I was going to wait until the end of Game of Thrones to start watching it even though we did watch season one. And we liked it.
But now I’m not anxious to go watch it don’t know why.
I am watching "Rumpole of the Bailey" on Acorn. Currently I am on Season 5.
It may say something about the temper of our times that FOX News dominates the ratings for cable news. According to Neilson the 5 most-watched cable news programs were:
FOX Hannity 3.1 million average viewers per night in April
FOX Tucker Carlson 2.8
MSNBC Rachel Maddow 2.6
FOX Ingraham 2.5
FOX "The Five" 2.4
Those ratings do not surprise me. It's unfortunate and doesn't bode well for 2020.
I rechecked.
Based on weekly ratings reported May 21,
FOX is #1
MSNBC is #2
CNN is #3
The data indicates this relative ranking for the 25-54 year-old demographic as well as total viewers, and prime time as well as total day time periods.

I really like Doc Martin, which unfortunately has run it's course.
Anyone watch the recent remakes of All in the Family and the Jeffersons, with Woody Harrelson as Archie and Jamie Foxx as George Jefferson, among other recognizable names. Performed before a live audience. I was rolling on the floor in delight. I imagine it will be re-runned and streamed, as it seems like it was very popular. There was an obvious nostalgia element but I would think it would be entertaining for even the younger crowd as the topics are timeless.
I hope it is the start of a trend! One of the few worthwhile things I've seen on commercial broadcast TV in some time.
