    Can you identify this plant?

I have been growing this spiny plant for 3 years now. I got it at a yard sale from some people who moved away. It is about 18 inches tall (not counting the pot) and 28 inches wide. It is blooming now for the first time, with 2 spikes, each about 35 inches. The spikes are curvy and elevated about 30 degrees.

I saw a similar plant at a show in San Francisco, a guy had a table full... and he called his plants "dicklia". I am not sure I spelled it right, and I am not able to find any information on-line about dicklias.

I will attach a pic of my "dicklia".

I would appreciate ideas as to what this plant could be!

Got it! Your plant is a bromeliad and is it Dyckia choristaminea.

Thanks! I may have mis-heard the guy. (Or maybe he thought he had Dycklias!)
