    These are the best invention. There is a pad that goes on your surgical site (I have it inside a folded flannel pillowcase). Then there is a small cooler I have 3 frozen 16 ounce water bottles (yes I actually bought 6 water bottles). Then fill with water. It circulates through the pad. So much better than ice packs.

    We use them on: hip, knee, shoulder and back surgeries. It really decreases the need for pain meds.

    Good luck and hang in there with all the P.T. It really pays off.

    I think what helps the most is the "preop PT". Getting those muscles in good shape and lots of stretching. I was at full extension just 2hours after getting to my room. This is usually the goal of the 1st 2 weeks. and I'm already at 110d flexion..

    Pain is minimal-much less than I expected. This too may be because of my preop work.

    I suppose my boredom is earned
