The retirement, not the other thing.

It's been rainy and cooler this past week or so but sunshine and mid 80's are in the forecast for next week, that means floating in the pool in between naps.

My wife starts back to school on the 10th, so that doesn't leave us any time to go out vagabonding till her Christmas break, but next summer....we're hitting the road big time!

In the meantime, I've re-strung my guitar after not touching it for a few years so I'll probably spend part of each day over the next several weeks building up the calluses on my fingertips. I've been meaning to build a new fileserver so I'll probably start that after she's back in school and late summer/early fall are the perfect times for cruising the back roads on the motorcycle. The 2000 Sq Ft of finished basement space which the grandkids have destroyed over the past couple of years is in need of a makeover so that will get me through the winter. I have nearly 5000 unread e-books calling my name and I just found a new recipe for chicken/sausage/shrimp jambalaya which I think could use some perfecting.

Once I get fully immersed in doing what I want, when I want, I'm afraid there may not be enough hours in each day.

My parents have been retired a few years and said they don't know how they had time to work!

    Alan--5000 ebooks?!!
I feel like a kind of a hoarder, but I have fewer than a thousand.

We are obviously set for long, long lives of enjoyable reading.

Those are the unread ones, the total is more like 5600 & change. I don't consider it hoarding as long as they don't take up physical space.

May you have a long and healthy retirement. And one where you find no new books that you want to read. At my current rate, expanded if I had the additional time in my life from not working, that amount of books would still take me about 33 years to read...

Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy. Even though I work about 10 hours/week from home I have plenty of time to do what I want. It is nice to start on a big project and not have to quit for work. I love to attack something until it’s done versus working in small chunks. Just my personality.
