The Republicans know from Dr. Ford's testimony that she was truthful and that the FBI would find out what he did. They are afraid they can't push someone else through in the little time left in case democrats regain the Senate.

Waiting until the last minute to bring these allegations to light was a ploy to delay the process in hope that Democrats could regain the Senate and have more influence on Supreme Court confirmations. I think they call that politics.

If we regain the Senate, I'd like to see a refusal to confirm any judge until such time as we retake the presidency. That would only be fair.

A bipartisan group of men in Maine held a news conference to say they believe Blasey Ford, and to put pressure on Collins. Some of the Republicans said they don't see how much longer they can remain in the GOP. So maybe not the men's rights group referenced, but it's something. After all, men can be sexually assaulted also. It's a human issue not exclusively a woman's issue.

McConnell asked murkowski if she agreed with flake and she does. So now they don’t have the votes! An investigation will be done.

Thank You for posting this, TT. Wonderful news. And I respect Jeff Flake for calling for a one week investigation - that showed some moxie. I know he's about to retire and has nothing to lose but it still was a bit gutsy anyway in my book. Will be interesting to see how this unfurls going forward...….Rob

I'll sum it up concisely. I just don't know that America can afford someone like Brett Cavanaugh as a lifetime Supreme Court Justice. It's too risky to have someone with these issues occupying that chair. He's too conservative for many and is very pro-corporation, meaning support for the continued turbo destruction of the middle class and continued offshoring of jobs and continued nightmares regarding access and cost of the US Health Care Industry for those not close enough to the Mexican border. Kavanaugh may have the credentials - this much I won't deny. But his belief system? Can America truly afford someone like him adding to it's continued sinking in life standards and quality of life?

So far that I know of anyway, we only get one life. Why waste a smidgen of it dealing with fallout created by or at least aided by Brett Kavanaugh in the lifetime role of US Supreme Court Justice? Rob

I dont think you get to use “grew a set” in conversation with gimmeeee because he considers that a micro aggression. I was slapped down for that.
