How heavy is the curtain? If it's fairly light you could consider 3M's Command Adhesive hangers. If they're not, is the issue with not penetrating the wall a matter of not wanting to leave a hole that has to be filled or not being able to penetrate the wall itself (cinderblock, etc.)?

Would a shower/tension rod be feasible? If the walls are close enough for it to reach then I don't see why a tension rod wouldn't work.

Good idea!
The Command hooks hold maybe 5-10 pounds a piece, so they might work, and they'll come off without a mark (if you follow their directions for that). 3M makes a foam tape that's strong enough to attach fenders to semi-trucks, but removing that after a while might cause more damage than you want to fix.
The other alternate I thought of was something like picture-hanger wire of the appropriate weight, wrapped around screws that you could put into the wall (depending on what the wall is made of); hang the curtain from the wire. That way all you should need is a screwdriver.

Okay, so I am getting creative here. But here is the deal. I read, draw, and watching movies in bed. This is not good for my sleep hygiene.
So I was thinking I could have one futon on one side of the room for lounging -- reading, drawing, movies, etc. -- and then one futon on the other side of the room just for sleeping. And the curtain would separate them.
But another idea I had was to set up my tent. And then just sleep in the tent.
Does this sound crazy? I know. I know. Another thing that most any single woman would see and promptly turn tail and run!
Hunh. You were going to have TWO futons. TWO of them? When there is just one of you? This is accumulating stuff at a higher rate.
I’m just yanking your chain. It might be a good idea.
You're getting pretty close to my notion that your ideal woman would own a change of underwear and a spork and be OK with living in a yurt.
