As everyone knows, these mid-terms are hugely important. I am not yet a qualified to be a resident of VT, so I'll be voting in NJ.

The Senate race in NJ is between Bob Menendez (D) and Bob Hugin (R). NJ is usually blue, but the race is really getting close.

I am a registered Democrat in order for me to be able to vote vote in a primary, but I am truly independent at heart. For the mid-terms, my heart tells me to vote in a way that will get a more Democratic agenda back in the legislature to prevent the spread of a greater Trumpocracy.

Here's the conundrum: Bob Hugin is a moderate Republican whose views I'm not crazy about but could live with and Bob Menendez is a %*!! whose views/voting record I support but whose ethics are horrible. He's a crook and a liar, but he's not Republican.

In another time, I would vote for Hugin. But these are different times.

What's an independent to do?
