    Dinner menu?

We are having friends over for dinner tomorrow night. What do you think of this menu?

    Leek and potato soup

    meatloaf

    Spinach salad
    Cherry cobbler desert

    Crusty bread
. These are from our garden: leek, spinach, cherries. The beef in the meatloaf is locally farmed.

    Missing anything?

Only thing I would do differently is make baked potatoes. I actually made meatloaf today.

We actually made roasted little potatoes yesterday. Impressive looking. Toss them in oil, put in a pan, sprinkle with an interesting salt and roast for 40 minutes. Bite size delicious and look good on a plate.

I would not eat the meatloaf or the soup, but would be perfectly happy with the salad, bread and dessert.

Is that because you are vegetarian? Our friend are not. She is allergic to garlic, but not to onions or leek.

While I would eat and enjoy the menu as posted, it is quite starch-based. I would prefer a light veggie soup (tomato or minestrone) and move the starch (good potato suggestions given above) to support the meat loaf and salad.
As Cicero said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”
