When I wasn't a vegetarian, I loved sardines. My DH eats a couple cans a week.
The oil does seem to get on everything and smell, but I remember them as being very tasty and satisfying.

I liked anchovies on pizza, too - in fact, that is one thing that brought me and DH together

Never had sardines on pizza - they seem a bit bulky?

I've been modifying my vegan diet to include fish one a week, which then I guess isn't vegan anymore or I'm a jack vegan. Works for Bill Clinton. Whatever, I was glad to get sardines back on my food list. I like them right out of the can. Mustard and olive oil are my favorites. I think they go well with a spoonful of kimchi or a slice of good bakery bread on the side.

Is that really the term for an herbivore with fins?

No. I got that image off google. I make really yummy pizzas but none of them include sardines or anchovies. I do put shrimp on pizza and once made a shrimp, scallop, lobster pizza that was divine.

When my boyfriend ordered it on his half it was chopped up and hidden under cheese which made it a horrible first bite discovery. I broke up with him not long after.

    Ha, FloatOn!!

I do love me some sardines, but only the ones in special sauce, like tomato sauce or mustard. I go the cracker (usually RyKrisp or Akmak) route with them too. I also like herring. You can get the pickled ones about anywhere, but also in various sauces at Ikea.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!
