Congratulations! Many happy miles in your new car (fun to drive, too, if that counts for anything at all)!

DD2 and SIL2 each have Mazda and really like them and the dealer so enjoy your new car and have fun driving it!

Yes, I couldn't believe that the price was so low; they offered $5k in discounts. With the fancy trim they offered $6,500 off, so that was an even better deal, but a lot of the extras were stuff I didn't really care that much about like a sunroof, bigger tires, Bose surround sound system, etc.

And Steve, you're right - the car is very fun to drive! And quite luxe too, both inside and out.

Razz - if this car holds up well, I can see us becoming a Mazda family too. It's good to hear that your kids are so happy with their cars and the dealership.

And hopefully it will hold up well, though I'm not expecting it to last as long as my Honda. But honestly, a lot of the electrical stuff on my Honda started to break down around the 12 year mark and these last 12 years it has been a bit annoying driving it, but it just wouldn't die so I kept driving it. May it rest in peace now!

Thanks a lot for encouraging me to keep looking. I had been ready to buy the 4 yr old Honda Civic that had reported body damage on all sides and was selling for $14,600 with 40k miles, with no service maintenance records, because it was the least expensive Civic I could find with the features I wanted. And now, for $400 more, I got a brand new car with a ton of great features, it drives so much better, is a lot more comfortable, it has a full 3 yr warranty, and it's FUN! And pretty.

I am quite tired of all the metal colored automobiles out there. Give me some damn color to look at! Thank you.

Don't get the Fiesta! Depending on the year, it will have the buggy dual clutch automatic transmission. My 2014 Focus has it and the clutch assy has already been replaced once under warranty by Ford. Ford really should have issued a recall. I think 2011-2014 are the bad years for the DCT.
