I posted this on my previous "Elderly Dog" post, but I wasn't sure anyone would see it.
I had mentioned that my 15 and 1/2 year old dog (who receives meds for low thyroid and gall bladder sludge), had an ultrasound because she was drinking tons and peeing a lot, and her coat was soooo thick.
I had suspected Cushings (hyperactive adrenal glands). Well, I was close......She has a tumor on one of her adrenals. There's nothing to do for that except surgery, which we wouldn't do at this age.
But she is going to start on a drug that decreases the circulating cortisol (since this tumor is making cortisol which leads to her symptoms).
I'm curious if any of you have used the drug Trisolane/Vetoryl? If so, did it work pretty well?
