Anyone else carry a multi-tool of some kind everyday?
I carry a Gerber Dime Travel. It covers a lot of bases even though it does not have a knife. You can take it on flights or to sporting events and concerts and such.

Lots of them. A small Swiss Army Knife in my purse, a Swiss Army card (the kind that fits in a wallet) that fit in my emergency kit, a Niteize Doohickey on my keys, to a pink Leatherman (so my hubby doesn't walk off with it). One thing I really hate about flying is having to leave most multi tools behind. The Doohickey can come with me as there is no knife, but the knife is the item I use most.
No, I keep them in vehicles, although I also have decent tool sets in those for emergency roadside. For my needs, a knife IS the most used tool. I have a new one coming in Christmas, after having my existing one open in my pocket and finding out the hard way, via a sliced finger.

I've decided to lighten my daily carrying load, so no longer take along a knife or anything. I don't miss it.
I carry a Leatherman Raptor:
Stainless Steel Folding Medical Shears
Strap Cutter
Ring Cutter
Ruler (5 cm)
Oxygen Tank Wrench
Carbide Glass Breaker
I use the shears most of the time, followed by the glass breaker.
A friend of mine, who is an unabashed prepper, carries one of those Leatherman multi-tools. It is not the Raptor, but another one -- with a knife and a lot of tools. He takes it everywhere except work, I think. Rules and regs at his workplace.
But he takes it on hikes, car trips & vacations, to social gatherings, to restaurants, and so forth.
He knows that strange times and circumstances often require a multi-tool. This has been true in my experience too. A multi-tool saves the day (or at least helps out, haha) in many scenarios.
And I am not even very handy!
