    Upgraded my Windows

I was using Windows 8.1 on a computer I got about four years ago, and new printer would not work with it. I was about to give up and take it in to be fixed, but I finally figured out that I needed Windows 10 to run the printer.

I found a free upgrade on the the net and got it to work, seamlessly, with no loss of my files.

Did not need to pay a computer person. So relieved, as I had to put 140 into my other computer.

Feels wonderful and confidence building when it all works out, doesn't it?
As Cicero said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”

I hate W10--don't like the interface, and as is the case with most Msft "upgrades," if offers little in the way of new functionality that you actually use. it contains few improvements over W7 that I've been able to see. It's mostly just change for the sake of change. Plus they stuck in a bunch of new ways to violate your privacy that you have to opt out of. I have to use it at work, and so I also got it on my new personal laptop because I don't want to have to mess with two different OSs in the short term.

I'm looking forward to switching over to Linux after I retire.
