That was a fun video--that anticipation as the cars clink-clink-clink up that first ramp is classic! Then it looks like you can't see what's beyond that first hill, so that's another thrill. However, I'm past the desire to pursue that type of thrill-seeking. Looked like fun, though!

This is the first one I ever rode:

    I love'em.

However, nowadays many of the rides make my body hurt. And I don't care for the ones where you go upside down.
My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what I start. So far today, I have finished two bags of M&Ms and a chocolate cake. I feel better already!

The last one I ever rode was in Las Vegas in the mid 90's at Circus Circus. I don't care much for roller coasters - like that famous one in Ohio - or is it Texas, with the world's most dramatic and deepest drop? That would terrify me and I know better than to climb on board to begin with.

This one, though, was very mild and tame in comparison. I managed to get an all day pass for a deeply discounted rate by watching some CBS programming at CBS Television City at the MGM Grande which knocked my all day pass down by half in price. And over and over and over I rode this thing until I really wasn't feeling to hot and had to stop.

Glad I did it so I can say I did but it's not something I seek out. I feel much more alive and alert at a protest, for example. Rob

I remember riding a kids one (tiny thing that doesn't really go high or low) and liking that. However I do not like the feeling I remember gettinog, when being driven over hills (where your stomach stays above and outside you), and get enough ups and downs, dealing with people. Life is roller coaster enough.

And now I have this song going through my head:

Love them - I like the ones like Batman at Six Flags over Texas where your legs hang down.

    Happy Roller Coaster Day!

Here's an article celebrating this important holiday with a list of the best roller coasters in the US (actually, razz, one in Ontario is on the list).

I'd rather get my thrills wondering if my tomatoes are going to be ripe by the weekend, but that's just me.

The first roller coaster I ever rode was Galaxy in Asbury Park. I went and looked it up and apparently it was gone by the 80's. The Casino was a weird and haunted place in the 70's.

My favorite roller coaster is Space Mountain at Disney world.
