    One eye watering, revisited

I posted about this a couple months ago. My right eye was watering all the time. I used moisturizing drops on it and cleaned it several times a day with baby shampoo on a cotton ball. I also made a flax seed heating pillow and warmed the eye up several times a day. It slowly cleared up. After several weeks, it came back again, but didn't seem to respond to the same treatment that had helped before. So I went to my ophthalmologist and he flushed my tear duct on that side. Some of the saline got through, but some of it didn't. So now I need to see a doc that specializes in clogged/blocked tear ducts. I guess the duct goes through the nose bone on the side and empties into the back of the nose. Worst case scenario, he will make an incision in the side of my nose and drill a new passage through the nose bone. Yeah. Right. I'm still hoping that this will open up on its own, but it's doubtful.

Anyone actually have this procedure? If it all goes well, I guess I would welcome it. It gets real old having my eye tear all the time. Some evenings I can't see through the haze. It's a drag.
But still........I would prefer something a little less invasive.

Um, I'm not the squeamish type, but ow! That makes perfect sense to gain access in that way, while still seeming odd.I

Here's hoping the specialist gets you cleared out without the cutting and drilling!

When the doc told me he was going to go down my tear duct, I cringed. But it actually didn't hurt at all. He did spray a little anesthetic on the area, which may have helped, but I was surprised at how bearable it was!
As far as the bigger procedure, I think it's done under a general anesthetic. Which is fine with me. I don't want to see his big drill heading for my nose.
