I packed up a box of 42 yards of fabric chunks, hunks and blocks to a woman in Missouri making 80 laprobes to a local nursing home, in honor of a man's 80th birthday. He was a pastor who counseled and supported her post attempted-suicide. She credits him with her being alive. Is there a dent in my stash? Not noticeable.

Haha, no dent! That is a nice donation you gave.

A friend's daughter had a baby last week on a Tuesday morning. Wednesday morning, their house (rental) burned down. The other Grandma was staying with the toddler twins and all made it out ok, but everything else is a loss. No rental insurance. I took over some bedding, a couple pairs of shoes (same size as daughter) and a Target gift card. Also dropped some stuff at the local rescue mission today.

3 quilts to Charity Group today! And 9.2 yards of scrap to a friend who stuffs doggie beds. No more fabric bits into the trash! So glad she asked for my trash last summer! It all adds up. (I get the yardage by weight!).

I have dipped back into sewing/quilting. In the process of getting things organized and finishing a couple of small projects yesterday, I threw away: a seam ripper with a burr in it, a box of straight pins that I had apparently never used and never will because— they have no heads! And a pair of scissors, too rusty to rehab. Pretty sure they came from the $1 bin at Michaels, the other 3 cleaned up nicely. Oh, and 2 spoons of rotted cotton thread.

Feels good to evaluate and organize my tools. But I have a lot of duplicates- I will let my quilting cousins take a look first, but I think they need to be donated.
