Moscow Mitch is the swamp. After years of repeal and replace and angry rich white man sputtering indignation and anger there is a giant void. Much easier to play the victim than do something.

So smarting from their frustration over Mueller’s book report, the Dems demand unanimous approval for a couple of big steps toward federalizing elections and an ambiguous law about reporting contacts with foreigners that would be very useful to aggressive prosecutors. How shocking.

On the other hand, it’s good to see that after a hundred years the left is finally concerned about Russia.

It will pass. I predict the next round of hundreds of millions of dollars Russian oligarchs pay prominent Democrats foundations will put an end to their Russia bashing.

That article seems to be near total GARBAGE. I mean literally we have an article on a bunch of $1000 donations? I mean it may be accurate enough and yes lobbying is a real problem but, uh context, uh relevance, isn't that small change in terms of donations?

Of course the point of election security isn't Russia, if one thinks it is the point may as well be flying over one's head on an airplane. The point is there is a way to ensure greater election legitimacy in terms of actually making sure votes are counted correctly. It usually doesn't involve voting machines at all except in getting rid of them, these aren't more accurate than paper ballots. Yes, Russia is one actor who could interfere, so are many others including the political parties themselves if they control a state. That's why we need legitimate elections.
