That article seems to be near total GARBAGE. I mean literally we have an article on a bunch of $1000 donations? I mean it may be accurate enough and yes lobbying is a real problem but, uh context, uh relevance, isn't that small change in terms of donations?

Of course the point of election security isn't Russia, if one thinks it is the point may as well be flying over one's head on an airplane. The point is there is a way to ensure greater election legitimacy in terms of actually making sure votes are counted correctly. It usually doesn't involve voting machines at all except in getting rid of them, these aren't more accurate than paper ballots. Yes, Russia is one actor who could interfere, so are many others including the political parties themselves if they control a state. That's why we need legitimate elections.
