    Quiet Heroes celebrated

The Google Doodle this morning made me aware of a very remarkable man. I wonder how may more there are?

As Cicero said, “Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others.”

Quietly and remarkably humane. I suspect there are legions of them, unsung. Society generally destroys--or buries--the principled.

I've recently been reading a book crediting Otto Warburg's cancer research (metabolic theory), which was mostly ignored in his time, but has recently been rediscovered. Sometimes, recognition takes a generation or two.
