So people still use landlines? We haven’t had one in over a decade.

We have both landline and cell phones. We have our internet through Verizon DSL.

We also have both landline and cell phones. If the number isn't programmed into my cell phone, it doesn't get answered. The landline is a different story. We don't have caller id, so we always answer the phone or the answering machine picks up. If it turns out to be a computer, I put the phone on speaker and just let it play until the computer hangs up. If it's a live person, I simply tell them to remove my number from their call list. I figure the longer I keep either computer or person on my line, the less time it/they have to bother someone else. LOL.

If it’s a computer they are calling thousands of people at once because with VOIP they are only limited by the amount of bandwidth their internet connection has.
