I see that Trudeau the Younger will now be reduced to forming a minority government, his party receiving fewer votes than the Conservatives, but distributed more favorably among the ridings. Somehow I doubt we will hear much whinging about “who really won” from up north.
I haven’t heard anything about him facing a leadership challenge within his own party, so is it safe to assume not much change for the next few years? He wouldn’t seem to be in possession of any kind of mandate.
I wonder what impact our former President's efforts to influence the election had on Mr Trudeau's ability to remain Prime Minister?

Canadians don't get hysterical normally but there is a divide between the Conservative and the Liberal viewpoints. It will unfold. Minority governments have been productive before. Personally, I would like to see a pipeline from the fossil oil sands in the west serving to supply the east and being refined in Canada. At present it is all being shipped to the US for sale prices.
What I find interesting is the election of a Green Party member in New Brunswick on the east coast joining the Green Party members on the west coast. i wonder how much the younger voters as they come of age will take note and support them.

The far right threat I kept hearing about never really materialized. Of course, the Canadian version of “far right” probably varies significantly from what we understand down here.
